Two injured in stabbing on Pacific Beach boardwalk, SDPD says

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Two people were stabbed on the Pacific Beach boardwalk Sunday evening, San Diego police said, leaving one with life-threatening injuries.

The incident occurred shortly before 11 p.m. in the area of ​​4400 Ocean Blvd. According to the SDPD, a group of approximately six teenagers approached the two individuals – a 51-year-old man and his 23-year-old partner – and argued with them.


During the argument, one of the teens stabbed the woman in the knee, prompting the man to intervene, SDPD said. When he intervened, one of the teens stabbed the man in the back multiple times.

The suspects then fled north on Ocean Boulevard and east on Garnet Avenue, SDPD added.

Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital after the attack. The man's injuries are considered life-threatening, authorities said. His current condition is unknown at this time.

No suspects have been identified or taken into custody at this time. An investigation by SDPD Northern Division detectives is ongoing.
