Two individuals arrested following investigation into pedophilia

GROVETOWN, Ga. (WJBF) – A man and a woman have been arrested following an investigation into sexual abuse of minors.

According to the Grovetown Police Department, Ashley Crawley, 26, and James Tripp, 29, were arrested on Wednesday, June 26.


According to authorities, an investigation was launched after Grovetown police received a cybertip from the online chat platform “MeetMe.”

Investigators say the tip provided information that a person in Grovetown was trying to solicit area men to have sex with a child.

According to authorities, the investigation revealed that Crawley allegedly created sexually explicit “content” and sold it online to various apps, with some of this “content” being created with children deliberately present in the videos for profit. extra money.

Investigators say the youngest of these children is 2 years old.

Authorities say that after further investigation, it was revealed that Tripp allegedly made plans and asked Crawley's permission to have sex with one of the children.

According to the Grovetown Police Department, Crawley was charged with two counts of child molestation and one count of computer or electronic pornography and the Child Exploitation and Prevention Act of 2007, and Tripp was charged with one count of criminal attempt – incest and one count of criminal attempt – child molestation.

According to authorities, Crawley is being held at the Columbia County Detention Center on $60,300 bail while Tripp is also in jail on $50,200 bail.

Authorities say the children have been removed from the home and placed in the care of the Division of Family and Children Services. This is an ongoing investigation in which more charges are expected.
