Two Greenville men arrested in drug investigation near school

Two men remain in custody following a month-long investigation by the Pitt County Sheriff's Office Special Operations Unit.

Detectives were investigating cocaine, heroin and fentanyl trafficking in Pitt County.

William Louis Chesson III, 38, and Antonio Johnson, 38, both of Greenville, were arrested following the execution of a search warrant at a home located on Myrtle Street in Greenville on Thursday, June 6.

Authorities located and seized a large quantity of illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia and cash.

Chesson III was charged with trafficking in heroin/fentanyl, 3 counts of possession with intent to sell/manufacture/delivery of heroin/fentanyl, 3 counts of possession with intent to sell/manufacture of cocaine, 4 counts of sale of controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, 4 counts of sale/manufacture/delivery of heroin/fentanyl. considers maintaining a place/dwelling/vehicle for the sale of controlled substances.

He remains held in the Pitt County Detention Center without bond.

Johnson was charged with trafficking heroin/fentanyl, trafficking cocaine, maintaining a place/dwelling/vehicle for the sale of controlled substances, selling controlled substances within 1,000 feet of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He remains in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $750,000 secured bond.
