Two from Morganton arrested on drug charges

Charles Thomas Corn, 70, and Davis Edward Frasher, 56, both of Morganton, were arrested by Morganton Department of Public Safety officers Monday, June 3, on drug charges. They were both charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Corn was also charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver marijuana, maintaining 'a vehicle or dwelling for controlled substances, simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance. , and driving with a revoked license. Additionally, Frasher was served with an outstanding arrest order for an unspecified charge.

They were arrested following a vehicle stop near Morganton Heights Boulevard after officers learned the vehicle's registered owner had a suspended license. During the investigation, officers found 5.1 grams of methamphetamine, 37 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Corn was given a $75,000 secured bond, while Frasher's was set at $79,000. Both suspects were scheduled to make their first appearance in District Court today (June 4) in Morganton.
