OROVILLE — Two wildfires broke out Saturday afternoon in the Oroville area, both prompting evacuations.

The June Fire was burning near the 400 block of Four Junes Way in the Palermo area, while the Rocky Fire was burning near the Enterprise Boat Ramp in Oroville, where the South Fork of the Feather River flows into Lake Oroville .

As of 5 p.m., the June fire was 745 acres and the Rocky fire was three acres, spreading more slowly.

The Butte County Sheriff's Office issued evacuation orders for the area south and east of Four Junes Way and several areas of Honcut. For the Rocky Fire, evacuations were in place for the area of ​​Lumpkin Road and Enterprise Road. There are spot fires, perhaps up to a quarter mile ahead of the fire toward Lumpkin.

Additional evacuation orders are expected, according to emergency alerts in the Watch Duty app. A map of evacuation zones is available at buttecountygis.maps.arcgis.com.
