TWO DRUG TRAFFICKERS CONVICTED FRIDAY

Two drug dealers were sentenced yesterday Friday in Indiana County Court.

Indiana County Prosecutor Robert Manzi announced that Amber Lynn, 34, of Blairsville, was sentenced to serve between five and 17 years in a state correctional institution for four cases. The first case involved members of the PA Attorney General's Office and Indiana Borough Police conducting a controlled purchase of heroin, cocaine and fentanyl as part of the drug task force's work County. The second case included a search of her apartment by state police after learning she was selling drugs there, and found xanax, heroin, methamphetamine and fentanyl. The third case involved Lynn being taken into custody at her apartment and discovering more drugs there. The fourth was a traffic stop just before her arrest, where she was driving under the influence of drugs.

Manzi also announced that Melissa Smith, 42, of Montgomery Township, was sentenced to 27 to 60 months in prison for openly pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute less than one gram of fentanyl in connection from an investigation conducted on May 5, 2022. On that day, State Police made a controlled purchase of narcotics from Smith using a confidential informant.

In his statement, he said authorities and his office “will continue to vigorously investigate and prosecute all drug trafficking in our county.” I hope other drug dealers change their ways before they themselves face lengthy prison sentences in the state.
