“The violence at multiple block parties over the past three days has broken the heart of this city. Innocent youth and neighbors are put at risk every weekend. Chief (James) White and I will hold a full briefing tomorrow to discuss this surge in violence at these events and our plans to address it,” Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan said in a statement to the Free Press.

Detroit Police Department spokesman Dan Donakowski said he could not confirm any details about the shooting.
