Two charged in Toledo shooting that left one dead, girl injured

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A Lucas County grand jury has indicted two people who police say are responsible for a shooting that killed a Toledo man and injured a girl.

The grand jury indicted Marquis Brent and Ontrionis Armour on July 2 in the June 13 shooting that killed Joshua Davis, 44, and wounded his daughter.

Both are charged with aggravated murder, two counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder, three counts of felonious assault, improper discharge of a firearm in a dwelling and possession of weapons while under disability.

Police said last month they had arrested Brent and were still looking for Armour.

The shooting happened in the 300 block of E. Lake Street in Toledo shortly before 4:30 a.m. on June 13. Davis was live streaming a movie night with his daughter on his porch on Facebook when the shots rang out.

Davis was on the ground suffering from two gunshot wounds, while the girl, also shot, ran into the house for help.

Davis died from his injuries in the shooting and a young girl is in critical condition, according to Toledo police. Authorities have not released the girl's age.

Neighbors and friends told 13 Action News they are shocked and heartbroken by the killing, saying Davis was a pillar of the community.
