Two Brevard County men arrested on attempted murder charges after road rage incident turned into shooting

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Volusia County Sheriff's Office announced Sunday that two Brevard County men were arrested in a road rage shooting of an SUV carrying a couple and three children.

Deputies responded to the shooting in the Mims neighborhood around 6:45 p.m. Saturday. The victims said they were heading east on State Road 46 when a black Dodge pickup truck began following them.

The truck eventually passed them, forced them off the road halfway, cut them off and stopped in front of them. Two men got out of the truck and fired several times at the victims' vehicle.

The couple had three children at the time, ages 6, 4 and 18 months, in the back seat of the SUV. The police observed 9 bullet holes in the vehicle as well as a broken front passenger window.

No one was injured, deputies say.

The events were confirmed by independent witnesses interviewed by detectives.

After firing several shots, the suspects got back into their truck and left the scene.

The victims called 911 and followed at a distance as the truck headed toward Brevard County, where Brevard County Sheriff's deputies located it and conducted a criminal traffic stop.

The shooters, identified as Cocoa driver Chad Morrow, 45, and passenger Chad McAninch, 52, of Port St. John, were arrested and each charged with two counts of attempted murder and three counts of assault and battery. indeed serious. with a deadly weapon.
