Two arrests made after investigators find drugs, weapons in Dunkirk raid

A four-month investigation into drug activity at a residence in the town of Dunkirk led to two arrests. Narcotics investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office and the Dunkirk Police Department searched a residence in Lot 24 of the Lakeside Mobile Home Park on Route 5 shortly after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday with assistance from the Sheriff's Office SWAT and the Dunkirk police SRT team. Investigators found Jesus Aponte-Rosario, 34, and Felipe Otero-Otero, 20, inside and also seized 21.47 grams of cocaine, a quantity of fentanyl and controlled prescription pills, two weapons 9mm handguns, two high-capacity magazines, scales and packaging materials for the sale and distribution of narcotics, as well as $778 in cash. Both suspects were charged with 3rd degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and Aponte-Rosario was also charged with 7th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts each of 2nd degree criminal possession of a weapon and 3rd Degree, 1st – 2nd Degree Criminal Nuisance, 2nd Degree Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia, and Fugitive from Justice for Obtaining a Felony Arrest Warrant from Cape May County, New Jersey. Both men were taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.
