Two arrested in drive-by shooting in quiet Edmonds neighborhood

Two suspects have been arrested in Edmonds after three weeks of violent incidents on Olympic View Drive. Police are still searching for a third suspect, but officers believe there may be more.

The Edmonds Police Department (EPD) said officers located two men, ages 37 and 26, late last month. Both were booked into the Snohomish County Jail as detectives continue to investigate the drive-by shooting, looking for evidence of others who may have been involved.

“Since early June, there have been multiple calls from community members regarding the sounds of gunfire in the area around the 8100 block of Olympic View Drive,” Everest Police Commander Josh McClure said in a prepared statement. “Most of the calls have come in late at night and overnight. In some cases, investigators have been able to recover evidence that multiple weapons were used. Trees and a stop sign have been hit, but there have been no injuries.”

But on June 24, police received a call that a stray bullet had hit someone's house. Police set up “dedicated surveillance” to monitor the area for possible drive-by shootings. A few days later, they saw a vehicle drive by and gunfire quickly followed. Officers found the car and discovered it had been abandoned.

“After an extensive search, two suspects were located with the assistance of Edmonds and Everett K9 units, King County Guardian One helicopter and a drone unit,” McClure said.

More arrests are expected to be made as police continue to gather evidence. Anyone with information is asked to call EPD.
