Two Arrested for Drug Trafficking in Mayfield, Kentucky – KBSI Fox 23 Cape Girardeau News

MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) – On June 28, 2024, a methamphetamine trafficking arrest was made by Deputy Peyton Jackson and Deputy Austin Ramage, who conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on US 45 North between Mayfield and Hickory.

Deputy Ramage contacted the operator, Edward Ellegood, 50, of Mayfield, and his passenger, Amber Zib-Poot, 39, of Mayfield.

During the traffic stop, K9 Storm and Sgt. David Harrison of the Mayfield Police Department were requested to attend the scene to conduct an open sniff around the vehicle. K-9 Storm struck the vehicle, indicating to Sgt. Harrison there were drugs inside the vehicle.

Deputy Ramage and Deputy Jackson conducted a search based on Storm and Sgt. Harrison's findings.

The search yielded approximately a quarter ounce of methamphetamine, 13 hydrocodone pills, and drug paraphernalia, including scales.

Ellegood also exhibited numerous signs of impairment and was ultimately found to be under the influence of controlled substances.

Ellegood and Zib-Poot were both arrested and transported to the Graves County RC Center, then transferred to an out-of-county facility by Graves County Jail staff.

Ellegood was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, First Offense – Two Grams or More of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Pills), Drug Paraphernalia – Purchase/Possession, Driving While Intoxicated – second offense and traffic violation.

Zib-Poot was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance first degree, first offense – two grams or more of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance first degree, first offense (pills), and drug paraphernalia – purchase/ possession.
