OXFORD, Miss. (WJTV) – Two Arizona men have been convicted of trafficking drugs from California to Mississippi.

According to court records, Enrique Rivera, 45, previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute approximately 110 pounds of methamphetamine. Omar Villacorta was convicted at trial of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 110 pounds of methamphetamine and conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute three kilograms of fentanyl.

“This prosecution stems from one of the largest drug busts in the Northern District of Mississippi in recent history,” said U.S. Attorney Clay Joyner. “This was the result of a major undercover operation involving state and federal law enforcement agents. Thanks to their diligence and professionalism, we were able to keep this methamphetamine and fentanyl off the streets of Mississippi.
