Two 16-year-old suspects arrested with nearly 100 rounds of ammunition and handguns leaving Deerbrook Mall

Humble, Texas – Several suspects, including two teenagers, were reportedly arrested after authorities found guns and ammunition on them as they left Deerbrook Mall over the weekend.

On Saturday, a mall security guard flagged down a suspicious black Dodge Ram pickup truck that was driving through the parking lot rows, but never stopping in a parking space, according to a post on the Humble Police Department's Facebook page.

The officer said the vehicle was moving from one parking lot to another, prompting him to call the Humble Police Department's canine officer, who was assigned to the mall for additional patrol.

This officer watched the vehicle drive around the parking lot until it drove away.

After the suspect vehicle left the parking lot, the officer followed and conducted a traffic stop on the roadway.

As the truck stopped, the officer said he saw the people inside the vehicle leaning toward their feet as if they were trying to hide something.

Additionally, the officer said the driver hit the curb without paying attention and grabbed something while stopping.

During the investigation, officers discovered that three of the four people inside the van were carrying handguns, and two of them were 16 years old.

Investigators said they also found nearly 100 rounds of ammunition inside the truck.

They also found a surplus of new and used rubber gloves, several bandanas attached to face coverings and screwdrivers, according to police.

The Humble Police Department noted that its See Something, Say Something initiative contributed to the arrest of the suspects.
