Tulsa police arrest man suspected of multiple murders at bar near 21st & Garnett

TULSA, Oklahoma — The Harford County, Maryland, Sheriff's Office announced Saturday that an arrest was made in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Friday evening in connection with a murder in Baltimore.

2 News sister station WMAR 2 in Baltimore said Rachel Morin, 37, was last seen on August 5, 2023, around 6 p.m., at Ma and Pa Trail in Bel Air, Maryland.

At 1:07 p.m., the Harford County Sheriff's Office in Maryland received a call that a woman's body had been found near the trail, deputies believed the body found was that of Morin.

On June 14, 2024, Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez, a Salvadoran citizen, was arrested by the Tulsa Police Department's Special Investigations Division after being contacted by the FBI on Friday evening.

TPD said he was arrested at a bar near 21st and Garnett, where he initially lied to officers about his identity and denied knowledge of the alleged crimes.

The Harford County Sheriff's Office said he may be linked to several homicides.

Eleven days after the murder, the sheriff's office released information that DNA found at the crime scene matched an assault and home invasion in Los Angeles.

At the press conference, Sheriff Jeff Gahler told media the case involved a woman and a 9-year-old girl who were assaulted.

According to officials, Martinez-Hernandez arrived in the United States illegally in February 2023, after being suspected of murder in El Salvador.

Martinez-Hernandez is suspected of first-degree rape and murder and is being held without bail.

He will be extradited to Maryland in the coming days.
