Trump incites crowd to chant 'bulls***' over Biden's immigration executive order

Donald Trump's latest rant against immigrants and asylum seekers called people who traveled hundreds or even thousands of miles to reach the United States lazy, while the former president incited his crowd to chanting “bulls***!” in response to Joe Biden's efforts to ensure border security.

The ex-president spoke Sunday afternoon in Las Vegas and denounced an executive order signed by Biden last week to combat illegal border crossings. The order, signed by the president on Tuesday, allows him to freeze the US asylum system if illegal border crossings occur at an average rate of more than 2,500 per day.

“Last week, Crooked Joe signed an executive order pro-invasion, child trafficking, women trafficking, human trafficking and drug traffickers. This is a pro-drug dealer bill,” Trump said of the order, which is not a bill.

“What he signed means nothing. In fact, it makes things easier, in my opinion, it opens the border even more,” the ex-president continued.

He then called immigrants criminals and mentally ill, with the rest being called lazy and “unproductive” – and explicitly not part of his vision of “making America great again.”

The whole world is emptying its prisons, its insane asylums and its psychiatric establishments. They dump them in your state, but they dump them in all 50 states,” Trump argued. “Countries dump all their criminals into our country, don’t they? And also some people who are not criminals, but who are not productive. »

Trump has taken his often dehumanizing and insulting rhetoric toward immigrants to the extreme in 2024 as he campaigns for the White House for a third time. The ex-president's latest bid for the White House is highlighted by four criminal trials, one of which has already resulted in a guilty verdict, which are costing Trump time and money in legal fees as he mounts several legal defenses.

This month in New York, Trump was convicted of 34 counts of falsifying business records to conceal a hush money scheme to prevent porn star Stormy Daniels and other women from disclosing alleged affairs with Trump during his presidential campaign. He has promised to appeal and his sentence will be pronounced in July.

Even though Trump was unable to file charges in either New York or Georgia, where he is on trial for trying to change the results of the 2020 election, he could likely end the Justice Department's prosecution. 'he did it. be elected president and take the oath of office before the conclusion of business; the agency does not pursue sitting presidents.

Immigration has generally been seen as a weak point of the Biden campaign and Donald Trump's remarks on Sunday could be seen as an attempt to counter the president's efforts to portray his opponent as one unwilling to seek compromise and introduce real policy changes. US immigration policy goes beyond the ramp-up in enforcement during Trump's first term.

Biden and his party saw an opening on the issue after Trump urged Republicans to kill a bipartisan compromise crafted in the Senate that centered on the main provision of his executive order. But it remains to be seen whether Democrats can actually get the message out blaming Republicans for inaction on Capitol Hill.

Polls in Nevada, favoring Biden in 2020, indicate Trump holds a small lead in the state.
