Troy man arrested for multiple burglaries in Brunswick

BRUNSWICK, NY (WNYT) – Michael Monge, 40, of Troy, was arrested May 29 by New York State Police for several burglaries that occurred in Brunswick earlier in the year. State police said Monge was linked to five burglaries in March and April.

On March 11, state police were called to an unnamed business in Brunswick for a burglary complaint. They said Monge was present at the business the night before the call and had damaged the business and burglarized it.

They also claim Monge stole items from Aldi in Brunswick that same night, saying they received a call on March 11 for reports of merchandise stolen from the store.

On March 14 and April 15, Monge allegedly unsuccessfully attempted to break several anti-theft devices, damaging the devices at Brunswick Walmart.

On April 27, state police were called to an unnamed Brunswick business that had been burglarized early in the morning. Police said Monge caused damage to the property while trying to steal it.

Monge was arraigned in Brunswick Municipal Court and brought from the Albany County Jail where he is being held on similar and unrelated charges.
