Tributes paid to the “beautiful” 19-year-old teenager, who died tragically in the Billericay accident

TRIBUTES have been paid to a “beautiful” 19-year-old with a “smile that could light up any room” after she tragically died in a crash in Billericay.

The victim of the crash, which occurred Saturday morning in the Oak Road area, was named locally on social media as Kelsie Stevens.

Friends and colleagues rushed to social media to pay tribute to her, describing her as “brave, strong and talented”.

Four men and a woman were arrested following the crash after a Mercedes left the road and veered into a ditch.

Kelsie was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

In a Facebook post, Amy's unisex hair salon where Kelsie worked paid tribute to her.

The post read: “Devastated to have to post this. We lost a member of our team today, Kelsie. We will miss you our Krazy Kelsie.

“We will miss your crazy ways, the countless cans of Red Bull floating around the living room and the crazy stories you entertained us with.

“Our love and thoughts are with your family and friends. Fly high, beautiful girl.

Dozens of people responded to Essex Police's Facebook post, writing “RIP Kelsie” and paying tribute to the teenager.

Alex Myers, Conservative councilor with responsibility for Castledon and Crouch ward, said: “My condolences to the families and friends on what must be an absolutely terrible time for them.

“To lose two so young, with their lives ahead of them, is an absolute tragedy.

“I know that the authorities are carrying out investigations to find the causes of these two terrible incidents, but of course this will not ease the pain and hurt that the two families feel. »

Four men, aged 74, 54, 18 and 16, all from Billericay, and a woman, aged 20, from Rayleigh, were arrested and questioned in connection with the collision.

They have each since been released on conditional bail while investigations continue.

Essex Police are appealing for anyone who saw the vehicle in question, a black Mercedes SLK, in the hours before the collision to come forward.
