BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A former Dollar Tree employee charged with murder for fatally stabbing a shoplifter had his trial postponed Friday until July 1, according to court records.

Dylan Matthew Franco, 22, remains held without bail in the death of 36-year-old Aaron Delgado.

Footage taken inside the Dollar Tree on Columbus Street shows Delgado taking items the evening of Feb. 21, then fleeing out the back door, according to court documents. An employee, identified as Franco, rushed to the front door after an alarm went off, documents state.

Video obtained from another camera captured Franco confronting Delgado on the south side of the building where “an apparent struggle ensued,” the documents state.

The footage shows Franco running away, according to the documents. Delgado pursued him briefly before entering a nearby field and collapsing. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
