Triad sergeant faces multiple charges

A Triad sergeant is facing charges after his involvement in two crashes, according to North Carolina State Highway Patrol troopers. On Tuesday, just before 9:45 p.m., officers said Hannah Whittington was driving a 2008 Ford pickup truck. She then turned right onto US-158 from Milling Road. On the curve, the truck went left of center, crashing into a 2004 Chevrolet pickup that was heading south on 158. Troopers said Whittington fled the scene of the collision. Officials say Whittington continued north on US-158. The Ford she was driving traveled left of center again, striking a 2022 Chevrolet truck head-on.

Both vehicles came to a stop.

Whittington, as well as the driver of the 2022 Chevrolet, were injured in the crash.
