Trenton man arrested for murder and attempted murder after four people shot, one fatally

TRENTON — A man has died days after a shooting that injured four people late last month.

Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said the Mercer County Homicide Task Force (MCHTF) and the Trenton Shooting Response Team have arrested a Trenton man in the shooting death of Samier Vincent.

Trenton police responded to the 100 block of Walnut Avenue when a Shot Spotter activation alerted them to multiple shots fired in the area.

Upon arrival, police found four shooting victims who were transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center.

Samier Vincent, 30, of Trenton, was shot in the head and neck. He died of his injuries on June 27.

A 29-year-old woman is in serious condition in hospital and two other victims have been treated for their injuries and released.

Divon Ray, 24, of Trenton, is charged with one count of first-degree murder, eight counts of attempted first-degree murder and numerous weapons offenses, including prohibiting certain persons from possessing a weapon. He was arrested in Trenton on Wednesday. The district attorney's office has filed a motion to detain Ray pending trial.
