Trap shooting: Alexandria, Minnewaska and Parkers Prairie qualify for state – Alexandria Echo Press

ALEXANDRIA — The Alexandria Cardinals, Parkers Prairie Panthers and Minnewaska Lakers are two of 40 teams qualifying for the MSHSL state tournament on Friday, June 21.

Alexandria finished 36th out of 40 with a score of 472 in the qualifying tournament held at the Alexandria Shooting Park June 10-18. Minnewaska placed 28th with a qualifying score of 474. Parkers Prairie placed 23rd with a score of 476.

Wayzata finished with the highest score (485), taking first place via a tiebreaker against Tri-City United.

Hunter Walz finished on top for Alexandria with a score of 97. Rounding out Alexandria's top five were Andrew Pritchard with a score of 95, Owen Anderson and Grahm Virnig with a score of 94, and Isaac Tewes with a score of 92 .

Alexandria had a few other scores in the 90s: Brody Buse, Ian Johnson, Luke Maanum and Haddan Steen had a score of 91, while Noah Evenson, Grant Hanson, Nicholas Hiles and Wyatt Krebs had a score of 90.

For Minnewaska, Dylan Vanzee led the way with a score of 97, while John Jenson had a 96, Mason Reichmann had a 95, August Reichmann had a 94, Levi Schultz and Hunter Kalb had a 92 and Jonathan Hagen also had a 90 .

James Olson led the way for Parkers Prairie with a score of 97, while Donavin Anderson had a score of 96, David Revering had a score of 94 and Seth Sasness and Holden Truax had a score of 93. Della Koep finished with a 92, while AJ Olson scored 90.

Ashby also participated in the tournament and was led by a score of 95. Jaxon Schmitz had a score of 91, while Noah Anderson had a score of 88, Aidan Riches had a score of 86, Jacob Sorenson had a score of 85 and Kenneth Spielman got a score of 84.

For the Central West zone, Dainen Nibbe had a score of 92, Jameson Nadgwick had a score of 90, David Larson had a score of 88, Gauge Eide had a score of 86 and Matthew Bakken had a score of 85 rounding out the top of the WCA. five.

Eileen Bock led the way for Osakis with a score of 93, while Justin Maus had a score of 91, Jack Bock had a score of 87, Simon Jacobson had a score of 86 and Kolbe Kral had a score of 85.

Chase Holtberg finished first for Brandon-Evansville with a score of 94, while Bryce Froemming and Kaleb Fugleseth had a score of 92, Benjamin Siefert had a score of 91 and Tahira Schaffran had a score of 89.

The state tournament begins Friday at 7:30 a.m. at the Minneapolis Gun Club in Prior Lake. The team competition begins at 9 a.m. The individual competition begins at 1 p.m.
