Trail Fire now fully contained to 193 acres, north of Reno | News

Officials say the Trail Fire in the Northern Valleys is now 100% contained at 193 acres.

The fire broke out Tuesday afternoon near Red Rock, east of Peavine Mountain.

No homes were lost and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and, at one point, required evacuations.

UPDATE:

A bushfire in the Northern Valleys has prompted evacuations in the region.

People are strongly encouraged to evacuate from south of U.S. 395 between Copperfield Drive and Lemmon Drive, according to a Washoe County post on X.

Washoe County released an image of an evacuation zone for the fire, dubbed the Trail Fire.

People are advised to evacuate to North Valleys High School on East Golden Valley Road.

The fire has grown to approximately 100 acres according to a social media post from Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue.

Air support to help extinguish the fire is expected soon, according to a message from Washoe County.

No structures are threatened at this time.
