Tragedy: Third teenager dies after crash in Staffordshire

Police have confirmed that a third teenager has died following a collision in Staffordshire. The 17-year-old girl died last night (May 28) after being taken to hospital with serious injuries following the Penkridge crash.

Meanwhile, the fourth victim, another 17-year-old girl, remains hospitalized in stable condition. Emergency services were called to Cannock Road shortly before midnight on Saturday following reports of a crash involving a car.




Sadly, two teenagers – Dafydd Hûw Craven-Jones, 18, from Tanyfron, Wrexham, and Morgan Jones, 17, from Coedpoeth, Wrexham – were pronounced dead at the scene. Their families today paid tribute to the couple, with Dafydd Hûw's heartbroken relatives describing him as a “beautiful soul”, while Morgan's family said he was “loved by everyone”.

A spokeswoman for Staffordshire Police said: “A teenage girl injured in a collision in Penkridge has sadly died from her injuries. The 17-year-old girl was injured following a collision on Cannock Road on Saturday.

“She was taken to hospital for treatment. Tragically, she died from her injuries last night (May 28). Her family are being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time and we are appealing for their lives privacy is respected.

“We are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. The teenagers were traveling on Cannock Road, Penkridge, in a Ford Ka. We were called just before midnight to reports of a collision and arrived shortly afterwards.

“A 17-year-old girl remains hospitalized in stable condition.”
