A tourist who disappeared in Spain after a Pride festival was spotted in a hostel and wandering the streets after having his belongings stolen, his family says.

Ryan Anthony, a US national, reportedly went missing while on a trip with friends to Barcelona, ​​after leaving his home in Texas on April 10. Sister Kayli took to Facebook to ask for help, explaining that he had been missing for two weeks after saying he was going to a festival in the coastal town of Sitges.

Ryan's sister, 31, has claimed calls and messages were not coming through on his phone and police have launched an investigation into his disappearance after a report was filed with the US embassy. Writing on the page, she said: “Ryan left for Barcelona, ​​Spain on April 10 to pursue his passion for teaching abroad.

“Ryan suffers from mental health issues and is currently in crisis. So far, he has managed to balance things out and live a productive life, despite his struggles.

“He's been missing for almost two weeks. My sister is working with detectives in her hometown in Texas, as well as the US Embassy in Spain. Thanks to my niece's social media outreach and the amazing community Spanish, a woman from a The hostel recognized his photo, we learned last night that he had been seen and that he was alive.

“He looked unwell and was in crisis. His wallet, phone and passport were stolen.

“He sleeps in the hostel lobby at night and wanders the streets during the day. We pray that he is found.”

The aunt said the donations will also go toward medical expenses, as Ryan does not have medical insurance in the country. “If you can’t help, just pray for his safety and my sister’s safety as she embarks on this emotional journey,” she continued.
