Topeka man identified in sixth homicide investigation of year

TOPEKA (KSNT) – A Topeka man has been identified as the victim of the Friday, May 24 morning shooting in the 100 block of NW US 24 Highway.

According to a news release from the Topeka Police Department, Charles Balocca, 61, of Topeka, was identified as the deceased.

Shortly before 11 a.m. on Friday, May 24, TPD was notified that a person was suffering from gunshot wounds. Upon arriving on scene, officers found Balocca and medical personnel determined he was deceased.

This investigation is ongoing and becomes the sixth homicide investigation of the year in Topeka.
