BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Tonawanda town man received a split sentence Tuesday for stabbing a victim last June outside a Colvin Boulevard tavern, the Erie County District Attorney's Office announced.

Zachery S. Meer, 30, was sentenced to six months in prison followed by five years of probation, officials said.

Meer stabbed a 29-year-old man in the torso the night of June 11 during an altercation on the outdoor patio of the tavern in the 1800 block of Colvin, officials said. The victim was transported by ambulance to ECMC for treatment of a stab wound.

Meer pleaded guilty in March to one count of second-degree assault. A final order of protection was also issued on behalf of the victim, which remains in effect until June 2029.
