Tioga County Sheriff's Office arrests Nichols man on five warrants

A Nichols man was arrested by the Tioga County Sheriff's Office on charges of fourth-degree possession of stolen property, second-degree bail jumping and aggravated criminal contempt as well as several misdemeanor charges.

Police say Wayne Floyd, 33, was arrested after the Tioga County Sheriff's Office and New York State Police responded to five separate arrest warrants on May 30.th.

Floyd was remanded to the Tioga County Jail without bail. He will return to court on June 27th.

On 05/30/2024, the Tioga County Sheriff's Office arrested Wayne Floyd, 33, of the Town of Nichols, for:

  • An arrest warrant issued by the County Court for one count of Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree, a felony for which he was arraigned before Judge Schumacher on 5/31/24 and remanded to the Tioga County Jail, without bond, pending a future court date.
  • An arrest warrant issued by the County Court for one count of second-degree bail jumping, a felony for which he was arraigned in CAP before Judge Schaffer, and remanded to the County Jail Tioga on $30,000/$60,000 bond, with a bond date due back in Nichols Town Court with Judge Grinage on 06/27/2024.
  • An arrest warrant issued by the Nichols Town Court for one count of third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, and one count of third-degree bail jumping, a misdemeanor, for which he was arraigned before Judge Schaffer and released. on his own recognizance with a return date to Nichols Town Court with Judge Lute on 06/27/2024.
  • An arrest warrant issued by the Nichols Town Court for one count of aggravated criminal contempt, a felony, one count of second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor, and one count of assault in the third degree, a misdemeanor, for which he was arraigned at the CAP before Judge Schaffer, and released on his own recognizance with a return date to the Town of Nichols Court with Judge Lute of 06/27/2024.
  • An arrest warrant issued by the Nichols Town Court for one count of second degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor, one count of resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, one count of unlawfully fleeing police officers in a vehicle motor vehicle in the third degree, a Misdemeanor, one count of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree, a misdemeanor, one count of reckless driving, a misdemeanor, as well as other violations of the V&T Act, for which he was arraigned in the CAP before Judge Schaffer and remanded in custody for a fine of $30,000. /$60,000 bond/surety, with a return date to Nichols Town Court with Judge Lute on 06/27/2024.
