Timeline of disappearance and search for missing 3-year-old in Wisconsin

A small town in Wisconsin continues to search for a missing three-year-old boy who hasn't been seen in a month.

Elijah Vue went missing from his mother's boyfriend's house in Two Rivers on Tuesday, February 20.

He had been sent 250 kilometers from home for “disciplinary reasons”, with details now showing the little boy was subjected to long breaks and threats of cold showers if he misbehaved.

Elijah's mother, Katrina Baur, 31, and her boyfriend Jesse Vang, 39, were charged with chronic neglect of their children.

As of Tuesday, March 19, the search for the little boy was still ongoing and the FBI offered a $15,000 reward for information.

Here's a timeline of Elijah's disappearance so far

12 February – Katrina Baur leaves Elijah with Jesse Vang in Two Rivers, about a 2.5-hour drive from her home in Wisconsin Dells.

February 12-20 – Elijah is reportedly subjected to disciplinary tactics by Mr. Vang, including time-outs, teaching him to pray, and threats of cold water if he misbehaves.

February 14th – A photo is taken in the early morning showing Elijah lying on a bed, blindfolded and with bruises on his face.

February 15 – Another photo shows Elijah standing in the corner, wearing just a diaper. He appears full and his hands are in prayer position.

February 16 – The Manitowoc County District Attorney says Elijah is left alone for about an hour in Manitowoc City while Ms. Baur and Mr. Vang are elsewhere.

February 18 – Mr. Vang tells Ms. Baur via text message that he will teach Elijah not only to fear him, but also to respect him.

February 20, 7:30 a.m. – Mr. Vang gets up to give Elijah breakfast – cereal without milk.

February 20, 8 a.m. – Elijah is told to stand at the foot of Mr. Vang's bed and pray while the man takes a nap. This was the last known sighting of Elijah, according to Mr. Vang's police testimony.

February 20, 10:59 a.m. – The Two River Police Department receives a call from Mr. Vang, reporting Elijah missing.

February 20, 1:37 p.m. – Police are appealing for help to find Elijah, while an Amber Alert is also being sent to the local community. Elijah is approximately 3 feet tall, with brown eyes and hair. He wore gray sweatpants, a dark-colored long-sleeved shirt, and red and green dinosaur slip-ons. He may have been wearing a red and white checkered blanket.

February 20, 5 p.m. – Residents are being asked to search outbuildings, vehicles and any other areas where Elijah may have been trapped or hidden, while police use drones and search dogs as part of their efforts. Jesse Vang was arrested that evening on suspicion of child neglect.

the 21st of February – Katrina Baur is arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to the crime of child neglect.

February 23 – Search efforts continue in Two Rivers and Elijah's hometown of Wisconsin Dells. Ms. Baur and Mr. Vang appear in court.

February 26 – The Two Rivers Police Department confirms they are searching a local dump as part of their investigation. Ms Baur and Mr Vang appear in court again, with the mother receiving two additional charges of obstruction. Details of Mr. Vang's tactics emerge from court documents.

February 27 – A week after Elijah disappeared, police say they still hope to bring him home safely. The FBI announces a $15,000 reward for information. Elijah's grandmother cries as she begs for help to find him.

February 29 – Ms. Baur requests that her bail be changed so that she can be released from prison. Police say they searched storm drains as part of their ongoing efforts to find Elijah, while volunteers from Fond du Lac began searching the town, located between Two Rivers and Wisconsin Dells.

March 4 – Research enters the third week. The Two Rivers Police Department released photos of a tan 1997 Nissan Altima, asking for help tracking its movements on Feb. 19 – the day before Elijah disappeared. The police are in possession of the vehicle.

March 7 – Both suspects appear in court, with updated charges announced for Ms. Baur. A statement from her mother is read, asking the judge not to let her daughter out of prison.

March 14 – A judge decides that Ms. Baur will be tried. Mr. Vang asked for a speedy trial and a lawyer. Baur's arraignment is scheduled for March 22.

March 18 – Police reveal they have positively identified a blanket, found about 6 km from where Elijah was reported missing, as belonging to the little boy. The research is entering its fifth week.

March 21st – Jesse Vang appears briefly in court via video link, with two new lawyers. His preliminary hearing is adjourned until April 4.
