Tilda Swinton's Bear Claw Shoes Could Be Used as a High Fashion Weapon

There are office loafers, and then there are the type of office loafers that Tilda Swinton released in London this weekend. Both are slip-on shoes, likely black leather. But just one can be transformed into a real high-fashion weapon if necessary.

Swinton showed off a pair of claw-embellished loafers at the Charles Jeffrey Loverboy Spring 2024 show on Friday evening. The actress' platforms featured a traditional moccasin silhouette, only edged with four silver claws mimicking the shape of a claw lining each shoe. According to a listing on the British brand's website, Swinton's shoes, which they have dubbed Moccasin Moggies, “leave a scratch.”

The actress used the rest of her business chic outfit in a way that was less likely to cause a scene at HR. Swinton wore a pinstripe double-breasted coat that she paired with matching dress pants, all in a loose, oversized fit. Underneath her office basics, Swinton opted for a blue button-down top that ended just above her waist. The actress topped it all off with her signature natural glamor and a pale pink pixie cut.

After posing for solo photos, Swinton took a front row seat alongside a very special person: her 26-year-old daughter, Honor Swinton Byrne. Honor, an actress in her own right, showed up to the show in a tartan mini skirt, lace top and printed coat worn over her shoulders. However, unlike mom, Honor took a more traditional route with her shoe choice. She opted for a pair of black ballerinas.

It's no secret that Swinton marches to the beat of her own drum when it comes to personal style, red carpet or otherwise. The actress looks just as comfortable in faux-feathered workwear and cocoon coats as she does in artistic red carpet dresses and cropped tuxedo jackets. Now we can definitely add bear hoof loafers to Swinton's growing list of fashion eccentricities.
