Three teens arrested in February Puyallup murder – KIRO 7 News Seattle

PUYALLUP, Wash. — Puyallup police arrested three teenagers on Tuesday in the February shooting death of Gianna Stone, 22, of Kingston, WA.

SWAT teams executed search warrants in Puyallup and Federal Way Tuesday morning and arrested a 17- and 18-year-old from Federal Way and an 18-year-old from Puyallup on suspicion of second-degree murder.

Just before 9 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, officers with the Puyallup Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 1500 block of 10th Avenue Northwest in Puyallup.

Upon arrival, officers found spent shell casings in the road, but no casualties or property damage.

Approximately 15 minutes later, officers learned that a 22-year-old woman from Kingston, Washington (Gianna Stone), had been brought to the emergency room at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma.

Stone suffered a gunshot wound to the head and died at the hospital.

Police said shots were fired at the SUV the victim was in. Initially, investigators believed there had been a confrontation that led to the shooting. Detectives now believe it was a random attempted robbery.

Police said following the killing, the suspect vehicle fled a traffic stop and crashed near the Washington State Fairgrounds. An officer at the scene of the accident noticed that the crashed vehicle matched the description of the vehicle involved in the murder.
