Public consultation on the Tullamore Regeneration Framework has been launched.

Three high priority projects have been identified in the future development of an Offaly town.

Offaly County Council has launched public consultation on the Tullamore Regeneration Framework.

The conversion of the Market Square into an attractive and flexible public space, as well as the development of the High Street and Cormac Street roundabout, are high on the local authority's list of priorities, under the plan.

The Council also highlights eight opportunity zones, including the former Texas site, which it hopes to bring back into use as private and public space.

He also suggests reducing the predominance of vehicles in the city and creating an environment more conducive to walking and cycling.

Offaly County Council says the framework plan sets out a forward-looking vision for the town and is part of an attempt to make Tullamore an attractive place to live, work and do business.

Submissions can be made in writing to Tullamore Municipal District, Town Hall, Cormac Street, Tullamore, or by email to [email protected] by July 25.
