Three people stabbed, one seriously, on East Village street

A bloody fight broke out on an East Village street Sunday, with two men — one critically injured — and a woman stabbed in the chaos, police said.

Officers rushed to the corner of East 14th Street and Avenue A just before 5:55 p.m. in response to reports of a stabbing involving multiple victims, police said.

Officers found a man with a stab wound to his throat, a 52-year-old woman stabbed in the leg and a 31-year-old man stabbed in the back, officers said.

Doctors transported all three to Bellevue Hospital; the man stabbed in the throat was listed in critical condition. The other victims were expected to survive.

On site, the police arrested a man in his thirties. Charges against him were pending.

Police were working to identify the seriously injured victim.
