Three people charged in sex trafficking case linked to teen's death on Dallas Turnpike in 2018

Three people have been charged in a sex trafficking case that resulted in the death of a North Texas teenager in 2018, according to the Collin County District Attorney's Office.

A Collin County grand jury indicted Alan Dailey, 51, of Plano, on charges of trafficking resulting in death, trafficking and forced prostitution. Also indicted were Nikki Jordan, 48, of Fort Worth, of Fort Worth, for trafficking and forced prostitution, and Anna Hudson, 42, of Mabank, for trafficking.

The three defendants were arrested on June 4.

In April 2018, all three defendants were involved in trafficking young women, including Julia Wells, 18, and at least one other woman, according to the indictment.

Wells died after being lured into a prostitution trap and pushed out of a car on the Dallas North Turnpike, according to a KDFW-TV report.

Dailey and Jordan “were involved in coercing women into prostitution,” the prosecutor’s office said in a news release.

Trafficking, a first-degree felony, involves transporting, luring, recruiting, harboring, providing, or otherwise obtaining another person by any means, in accordance with state law. The charge carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Forced prostitution is defined as causing another person, by force, threat, coercion or fraud, to engage in prostitution. Trafficking and forced prostitution are second-degree felonies, each punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

“These indictments and arrests mark the end of a years-long, multi-agency investigation into the death of Julia Wells, and we hope this will serve as the first step in seeking justice for Julia in court,” Greg said , Collin County Prosecutor. Willis.

The cases are prosecuted by the Collin County Prosecutor with assistance from the Texas Attorney General's Office. The Dallas Police Department's Texas Ranger/Special Operations Division and Homicide Unit made the arrests in this case.
