Three people accused of drug and weapons trafficking

Police arrested three people on 30 drug and weapons charges after a raid on a property in Blacksnake, near Kilkivan, last Sunday.

They located a high-risk offender, which led to the issuance of a search warrant on the property on Blacksnake Road.

The offender and two others present at the scene were detained and arrested, without incident, for a series of serious offenses.

Gympie Criminal Investigation Branch and the Child Protection Investigation Unit continued to search the property with assistance from the Tactical Crime Squad and Kilkivan Police.

During the search, police located three firearms, various quantities of ammunition, approximately 1.8 kilograms of methamphetamine with an approximate street value of $900,000 to $1,440,000, approximately 510 grams of cannabis, miscellaneous suspected acids and $122,350 in cash.

Police also located three stolen cars, including a Toyota Landcruiser allegedly stolen from Yandina Coolum Road, Maroochy River, on June 7, a Jayco caravan allegedly stolen from a business in Pinewood Ave, Gympie between June 6 and June 7, and a Toyota Landcruiser reported stolen from Pepperberry. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Gympie Magistrates' Court on August 19.

A 45-year-old Nambour man has been charged with possession of dangerous drugs and the offense of purchasing or possessing S4 or S8 drugs or dangerous poisons.

He benefited from drug diversion.

A 61-year-old Yandina woman has been charged with one count each of possession of dangerous drugs, failure to take reasonable care and precaution over syringe or needle, failure to properly dispose of a needle and syringe, possession of property suspected of having been acquired. for the purpose of committing a drug offense and an offense of purchasing or possessing S4 or S8 drugs or dangerous poisons.

He was offered a drug diversion.

Wide Bay Burnett District Detective Inspector Paul Dalton said the safety of the community was his top priority.
