Three men injured, one arrested in Minot shooting

BISMARCK, N.D. (KXNET) — A shooting on the morning of Sunday, June 23 left three people injured – one of whom is now facing multiple criminal charges.

According to the Minot Police Department, around 3:10 a.m., officers received reports of several people fighting in the 10 block of 1st Avenue Southeast, as well as possible gunfire. Upon arrival on scene, officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop on a suspect vehicle attempting to leave the scene. Here, they arrested a suspect – a 23-year-old man from Fayetteville, North Carolina – and seized a gun from his car.


The first victim in the incident suffered a minor hand injury before being treated and released. The second victim (a 36-year-old man) suffered more serious injuries to his abdomen and required surgery as part of his treatment.

The suspect is charged with reckless endangerment and felony possession of a firearm, both class C felonies. He is currently at Trinity Health treating a gunshot wound to his foot caused by return gunfire during shooting. He will be transported to the Ward County Jail once he is released from medical care.
