Three men arrested in connection with Griffin Heights apartment shooting

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Tallahassee Police Department has arrested three men in connection with a shooting at the Griffin Heights Apartments that left one woman dead and another seriously injured.

According to Saturday's press release from the City of Tallahassee, three men face charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

  • Antwan Mohammed, 33 years old
  • Jimail Cooper, 31 years old
  • Réginald Mims, 23 years old

After conducting an investigation, TPD concluded that the suspects arrived at the apartment complex armed and began shooting into a crowd of people. The suspects specifically targeted an individual with whom they were arguing over illegal drugs, according to Saturday's press release.

Due to the open area of ​​the shooting, two women were shot, neither of whom was the intended target. A woman, identified by police as Ashley Emanuel, 33, died from her injuries. The second woman, also injured, is expected to survive.

The City of Tallahassee press release said officers collected physical evidence and witness statements, allowing detectives to locate the shooters and driver.

After meeting with the Attorney General's Office, investigators obtained first-degree murder warrants for all suspects.
