Three men arrested in connection with 2023 CT show shooting

Three men were arrested in connection with a shooting at a Bridgeport salon in September 2023, police said.

On September 10, 2023, Bridgeport Detective Kenneth McKenna was conducting a “proactive operation” in downtown Bridgeport when he was approached by a number of individuals around 1:30 a.m. who stated that a shooting occurred inside the City Lounge located at 196 Fairfield. Ave., according to the Bridgeport Police Department.

Police confirmed two people were shot. One victim, identified as a Bridgeport man, suffered from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, police said.

The second victim, a 23-year-old New Haven woman, suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, according to police. She was transported to an area hospital via AMR ambulance in stable condition.

The Bridgeport Police Department's Detective Bureau Identification Unit, along with digital video detectives, responded to the scene to collect evidence.

On Tuesday, Tyquwane Gilchrist turned himself in at Bridgeport Police Department headquarters on an outstanding arrest warrant for charges related to the September 2023 shooting. The warrant charges him with criminal possession of a pistol /revolver with a court-set bond of $200,000. Gilchrist was arraigned Tuesday in Bridgeport Superior Court. Police say he was also the victim of a drive-by shooting outside an apartment complex in the 300 block of Orchard Street on April 27.

On May 23, Micherlens Thelemaque (also known as “Mike T”), 28, was served with an arrest warrant charging him with third-degree assault and criminal assault. second degree public order in connection with the shooting incident in the living room. He was identified as the male shooting victim, as well as the New Haven woman, who police believe was an innocent bystander.

On May 15, Rajonne Blake, 24, was served with an arrest warrant charging him with criminal attempt to commit second-degree assault in the shooting at In The City and was held on $40,000 bail set by the tribunal. Police said Blake was also shot multiple times on Nov. 6, 2023, in the area of ​​the 1200 block of Park Avenue.
