Three injured in South Syracuse stabbing, one charged, police say

Syracuse, N.Y. — Three people were injured Wednesday night after a fight led to a stabbing in South Syracuse, police said.

Around 10:51 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Girard Avenue for a report of a fight, according to a news release issued Thursday by Syracuse police.

When police arrived, they found a man and a woman with stab wounds outside. Police also found another man with stab wounds inside a home on Girard Avenue.

All three victims were taken to Upstate University Hospital where they are in stable condition, police said.

Police said one of the men injured in the stabbing, Alfred Clanton III, 35, started the fight. He has been charged with first-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
