Three fires in two days cause significant damage in Prince William County

Today, Saturday June 8, 2024, at 3:57 a.m., the firefighters were called. Crews quickly brought the fully engulfed detached garage under control, with no injuries reported, and the cause remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal's Office.

At 12:55 a.m., units were dispatched to a house fire near Manassas in the 7600 block of Monitor Court. The fire broke out at the rear of the house and was quickly brought under control, although the house suffered moderate damage and was deemed unsafe to occupy. An adult woman was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and the Red Cross is assisting four displaced adults. The exact cause is still under investigation.

On June 7, 2024, at 3:31 p.m., a townhouse fire broke out in the 12600 block of Dulcinea Place in Lake Ridge. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control, which caused significant damage and made the house unsafe to occupy. The fire, caused by combustible materials left too close to a burning stove, displaced two adults and a child. One occupant was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

At 3:57 this morning, units were dispatched to the 4500 block of Logmill Road (Haymarket) to search for a passerby reporting a garage fire. Crews arrived with a detached garage fully involved. External fire quickly brought the fire under control. No injuries were reported. The Office of the Fire Marshal is still on scene to determine the cause of the incident.

Townhouse fire

Earlier this morning, units were dispatched to the 7600 block of Monitor Ct. (Sudley) for a report of a townhouse on fire. Crews arrived with an active fire at the rear of the home and all occupants were safely evacuated. The fire attack brought the fire under control within minutes. The home suffered moderate damage and was deemed unsafe to occupy by the building official. One (1) adult occupant was transported to a nearby medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries. The Red Cross is assisting the four (4) adult occupants displaced by the incident. The Fire Marshal's Office determined the area of ​​origin was at the rear of the home, but the actual cause is still to be determined.

Yesterday afternoon, units were dispatched to the 12600 block of Dulcinea Place in Lake Ridge for reports of a townhouse fire. Crews arrived with heavy fire and one occupant safely exited the building. The fire was quickly brought under control. The home suffered extensive damage and was deemed unsafe to occupy by the building official. Adjoining terraced houses were not significantly affected. At the time of the fire, the sole occupant was transported to a nearby medical facility as his injuries were not life-threatening. Two (2) adults and one (1) child were displaced by the incident. The Office of the Fire Marshal determined that the fire was caused by combustible materials left near the burning stove.
