Three dogs dead following East Toledo house fire

According to TFRD, the entire facade of the house was ravaged by the flames.

TOLEDO, Ohio — The Toledo Fire and Rescue Department responded to a house fire in the 800 block of Berry Street in East Toledo shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15.

According to firefighters on site, the entire facade of the house was on fire before it was extinguished. TFRD says the fire was contained to one floor of the home.

According to first responders on scene, no one was in the home at the time of the fire, but three dogs were removed. TFRD said responders attempted to resuscitate the dogs, but all were declared sick.

Lucas County Canine Care & Control was also on scene during the incident.

TFRD said no firefighters were injured while battling the blaze. An investigation into the causes of the fire is currently underway.
