Three charged, including two for drug trafficking in Port Colborne

During the month of June, Niagara Regional Police detectives from the Street Crime Unit began an investigation into the sale of illegal drugs in Port Colborne.

Following the investigation, a suspicious residence was identified. On June 26, 2024, detectives executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at an address on Steele Street. Detectives arrested three people found in the residence.

Following the search warrant, detectives seized:

  • 229.7 grams of fentanyl with an estimated street value of $45,000
  • 18.2 grams of crystal methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $1,820
  • 32 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $3,200
  • $1,035 in foreign currency
  • A shotgun containing live ammunition stored in an unsafe manner and with serial numbers removed.

Angela Elizabeth Cirillo (54) of Niagara Falls was arrested and charged with the following criminal offenses:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Crystal Methamphetamine
  • Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds from a crime under 5,000
  • Careless storage of a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm with a falsified serial number
  • Possession of a firearm without a license

Jeffrey Patrick Ring (45) of Port Colborne was arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Careless storage of a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm knowing that the serial number has been falsified
  • Possession of a firearm without a license
  • Possess a weapon contrary to the ban imposed by the court
  • Failure to comply with a probation order

Cirillo and Ring were held for a video bail hearing at the Robert SK Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines on June 27, 2024.

Meghan Sarah Smith (34) of Port Colborne was arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance – Fentanyl
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance – Crystal Methamphetamine

Smith was subsequently released on a Form 10 recognizance with a later court date.
