Three arrested in drug raids in Montreal's Village

Article content

The Montreal police say they busted two drug-trafficking hot spots in the city's Village neighborhood this week that had become “sources of concern” in the area.

First, on Wednesday police arrested two people who they say were selling drugs out of a specific hotel room on Ste-Catherine St. E.

Police seized 26 grams of cocaine and 260 grams of crystal meth in the hotel room and at one of the suspect's residence.

The two suspects are a man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s. The man appeared at the Montreal courthouse this week to face drug-trafficking charges. The woman will appear at a later date.

Police also raided a bar in the Village on Thursday night where they had reason to believe cocaine was being sold from on a regular basis.

A 30-year-old man was arrested with around 10 grams of cocaine on him and faces various drug-related charges.

The police are asking the public to report any instances of drug sales in their neighborhood by calling 911 or visiting their local police station.
