Third suspect arrested in Carencro High bus shooting

CARENCRO, Louisiana (KLFY) – The third suspect in the Shooting on the Carencro high school bus has been arrested.

Records show Da’Marion Roy, 19 years old, has a two-year criminal record. Roy also faces misdemeanor charges from Carencro Mardi Gras. About a month before the school bus shooting, Roy was arrested in January during a Mardi Gras parade. The chief claims to have received calls from an armed individual.

“They gave us a clothing description, and Mr. Roy fit that description, and the officers actually observed him trying to conceal a weapon on his person as he walked through the crowd on the parade route. When they tried to have a conversation with him, he ran away and threw the gun away. They were able to apprehend him on nearby University Avenue,” Carencro Police Chief David Anderson said.

Roy also faces a second-degree attempted murder charge from October 2023, when he is accused of trying to kill a person. “It's disturbing to see that so many young kids these days are choosing this path, and here's a young man who took a life and pretty much lost his life,” the chief said.
