There's still time to find a show near you

July 4, 2024 has come and gone, but since the holiday falls on a Thursday this year, the celebration usually extends all weekend, even for the fireworks shows.

Metro Detroit residents still have a few chances to see fireworks this weekend, and even a few next week. Here are the remaining shows:

Friday

Festivities begin at 5 p.m. Friday with food trucks, rides and musical ensembles. A performance by the DSO begins at 8:30 p.m. and culminates in Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture,” complete with cannon shots and a fireworks finale. General admission is $35.75, $32 for seniors (ages 62 and up), $26.75 for youth (ages 5 to 11), and free for children 4 and under. Parking is $9 per vehicle.

Oakland County Fair: The fair will kick off Friday at Springfield Oaks County Park, 12451 Andersonville Road, Davisburg. A fireworks display will close out the first day at 10 p.m. Festivities will begin at 7 p.m. with a performance by the Grant Reiff Band, and Oakland County Fair royalty will be crowned during intermission. A variety of ticket packages are available on the fair’s website.
