The BCSO's annual “Independence Day Parade” will be held on Thursday, July 4 at 10 a.m.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Okay friends, don’t miss the 4th of July when our entire community will once again celebrate our nation’s independence.

Our annual Independence Day Parade will be held on Thursday, July 4th at 10 a.m., as we take to the streets to show our patriotism and pride in America.

This year's parade will wind through the streets of Merritt Island with the float and parade participants starting at Merritt Island High School, heading south on Courtenay Parkway, turning east on Merritt Avenue and the parade ending at Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School.

If this route looks familiar, it's the same route as the annual Merritt Island Christmas Parade, so arrive early to claim your favorite viewing spot and set up your flags and patriotic gear.

To make things even better, once the parade is over, our awesome partners located just around the corner at the Veterans Memorial Center will be hosting food trucks and unlimited admission to the Veteran's Museum, so bring the kids and get ready for some red, white and blue fun.

It will be a big parade as everyone is always eager to be on the streets to celebrate our nation's independence.

To register a tank, vehicle, marchers, or any other piece of great American patriotism you plan to showcase, simply visit to find out all the information.

As always, first responders and veterans organizations are free, but must still register so we can get everyone in position to parade.

Junny, America's Top Police Dog, and I look forward to seeing everyone along the parade route as we all celebrate the independence of our great nation!
