The One Shot meta is back in Fortnite thanks to a new weapon

Fortnite just added a brand new weapon from the recent update, which has many players worried due to the amount of damage it deals.

Fortnite's meta is constantly evolving, as the game often rolls out updates that shake up the weapon loot pool in addition to adding new ones. In Chapter 5 Season 3 alone, we saw the vehicle meta surface in Battle Royale thanks to the addition of Mythic Nitro Cars and countless vehicle mods.

But with the recent nerfs, combined with the new weapons added since the last update, some players are convinced that a “boring” old meta is back. This is mainly due to the addition of the all-new Heavy Impact Sniper weapon, which allows you to one-shot your enemies.

The Heavy Impact Sniper was just added yesterday, but in a Reddit thread featuring a snippet of what the sniper is capable of, some players couldn't help but express their concern.

The clip shows that the Heavy Impact Sniper can instantly kill an enemy as soon as it pops its head, reminding many players of what the old feared sniper meta was like.

Sure, the weapon has its downsides – like slow reloading and significant bullet drop that makes it extremely punishing if you miss – but in the hands of an experienced player or cheater, it can be a nightmare to manage.

One user wrote: “I was happy when they removed the 1 shot snipers, now I have to deal with them again? »

“This season is just about pissing everyone off, huh? They finally make it so that cars don't get broken absurdly, then they make it so that you can instantly die at any distance, with the only counterplay being having a car so they can't not bump into you,” another user said.

“Just when I thought we'd have a season WITHOUT a broken sniper rifle, wow, I'm such an idiot,” another user added. Meanwhile, one user claimed that one shots in Fortnite are “boring as hell” because there's no time to react.

As with any other weapon, there is always a chance that this sniper will receive balance changes. However, players will just have to be patient for now to see what the next update has in store for them.
