The Old Pink a total loss after fire Monday morning

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Old Pink, a popular bar on Allen Street in Buffalo, suffered extensive damage in a fire early Monday morning.

The fire was first reported around 5:45 a.m. Monday, with flames and heavy smoke billowing from the bar. The fire was largely extinguished around 7 a.m., with flames no longer coming from the building. Officials confirmed the building could not be saved and was too far away by the time crews arrived.


Officials said they are focusing on one area of ​​the building, but it remains under investigation.

Allen Street, between College Street and Mariner Street, is currently closed while crews battle the fire. Additional closures include Elmwood Avenue between Virginia Street and North Street and Wadsworth Street between Allen and St. Johns Place.

According to the bar's Instagram page, it was established in 1990.
