The FBI returns to the scene where the girl's body was found

OUR TEAM'S COVERAGE CONTINUES WITH OUR SISTER STATION IN NEW ORLEANS… KOURTNEY WILLIAMS, WDSU NEWS REPORTER. She spoke exclusively with a neighbor who knew the suspect…Daniel Callihan. A few houses down the road here in Jackson, Mississippi is where the body of the 3-year-old girl was found. HER 6-YEAR-OLD SISTER WAS FOUND ALIVE A FEW METERS AWAY. THE TRAGEDY HAS NEIGHBORS WHO KNOW THE SUSPECT…HEARTBROKEN. DANIEL CALLIHAN, 36, IS CHARGED WITH KILLING CALLIE BRUNETT AND HER 3-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER, ERIN BRUNETT. RENEE BROWN lives a few doors down from where Daniel lived and says she never thought he could do something like that. BROWN HAS KNOWN THE SUSPECT FOR THREE YEARS AND SAYS HE WAS A HEAVY DRUG USER. SHE SAYS THE NEIGHBORHOOD IS NOT THE BEST AND AFTER THIS SHE WANTS TO TAKE HER 81

The FBI spent the past two days searching a wooded area in Jackson after two Louisiana girls were found with a man accused of killing their mother and one of the children. The FBI returned to the scene on Boozier Drive, near McCluer Road, Friday morning and was seen gathering evidence. The drone video above shows the investigation underway. Jackson police were led to the area by Daniel Callihan on Thursday after arresting him following a pursuit. Callihan is charged with the murder of 3-year-old Erin Brunett and her mother, Callie Brunnet, both of Loranger, Louisiana. The other child, Jalie, 6 years old, was found alive and returned to the custody of her grandparents. Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade said that when the girls were found, he found cages at the crime scene, but no animals. Wade feared the site. was used for human trafficking and reported it to the Jackson FBI office. Callihan's girlfriend, Victoria Cox, 32, was named as an accomplice and also arrested. She is in custody and being questioned by Jackson police. Renee Brown lives a few doors down from where she says Callihan lived in Jackson. Brown said she never thought he could do something like that. “I get teary-eyed every time I think about it. I couldn't sleep knowing what this little girl was going through, and (Jalie) is going to be scarred for life because of Daniel,” Brown said. “He was a nice guy. I mean, he has character, but who doesn't have character? But I never thought he could stoop that low and take someone's life.” Brown said the neighborhood isn't the best, and after this, she wants to take her 81-year-old mother and move.

Callihan is charged with the murder of 3-year-old Erin Brunett and her mother, Callie Brunnet, both of Loranger, Louisiana. The other child, Jalie, 6 years old, was found alive and returned to the custody of her grandparents.
