The Exotic buffed raid is now one of Destiny 2's best clarity-adding weapons

Bungie improved an overlooked Exotic raid in The Final Shape, and these changes transformed it into one of Destiny 2's best clarity-adding weapons.

When first reintroduced to Destiny alongside Cropta's End, Necrochasm failed to impress Guardians. The Exotic Auto Rifle's obvious extra potential has been outclassed by other exotics like Osteo Striga, despite the latter being a campaign reward and Necrochasm being a Raid exclusive.

However, The Final Shape gave Necrochasm a huge buff, replacing its old catalyst with One For Thrall. Much like One For All, One For Thrall increases damage by 35% after hitting three separate enemies, but this exotic variant also improves range, maneuverability, and aim assist for the same duration.

Previously, Necrochasm's catalyst was Outlaw, which was an odd choice for a weapon that automatically recharges after Precision Final Blows. The old Catalyst and Cursebringer had no synergy, with one perk forcing you to reload and the other making reloading useless.

However, the same is not true for One For Thrall. The new Necrochasm Catalyst has incredible synergy, providing a 35% damage increase to outgoing shots and Cursed Thrall blasts produced by Cursebringer. This combination can easily take out crowds of enemies, making the Raid Enhanced Exotic an incredible clear weapon.

That's not all, Nechrochasm also has access to Desperation. After delivering the final blow with Cursebringer blasts, Desperation increases Necrochasm's fire rate by 25% up to 900 RPM, while also improving stability and aim assist.

Those who have stayed up to date with Destiny 2's PvE meta will know that Assault Auto Rifles are strong. Whether it's Breakneck or Vos Arago IV, these powerful ARs feel great when they power up. Likewise, Midnight Coup with Firefly + One For All is currently a great option, useful for both adding clear and general damage.

Necrochasm consolidates all of these meta weapons into one, as Cursebringer is a better Firefly, One For Thrall is a better One For All, and Desperation is a better Onslaught. Take three meta perks, upgrade them, then place them all on the same weapon. This is a nice recipe that transformed Necrochasm from a decent exotic weapon to one of the best in the sandbox.
